True, But calling preflop with those... (Except TT maybe AT) is doubtfull?
What do you mean by "Normal"? I.e. Poor? I played it bad IMO, I was torn between his hand beating me... and taking advantage of a fairly nice hand expecting to win. I doubted i would win though, hurt to click reraise |

Re: AJs -
[ QUOTE ]
So when he 3-bet the flop he must have had at least Ax or been able to beat a set of A's. [/ QUOTE ] On a paired ace flop like this I think it would often be 3-bet with any pocket pair over 8's. [ QUOTE ] When he then raises your turn bet, I suspect that he has 88, and when he caps your turn 3-bet (which I feel is a bit too strong), I am sure he must have 88. [/ QUOTE ] When he raises the turn bet I give credit for an ace and am slowing down because there is now a very real possibility that you are behind or splitting. A 3-bet here is not unreasonable though. I would definitely check/call the river against a cap though. |

TT/88/44/AT/A8/A4 [/ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] True, But calling preflop with those... (Except TT maybe AT) is doubtfull? [/ QUOTE ] All the PPs are going to call, IMO, and might crazygonuts on the flop thinking you're trying to bully them off. And I see players calling ace-anything under any circumstances all the time. Edit: in fact, since there are already 3 players in in a raised pot, I can't imagine a "normal" (read: loose, but not necessarily "bad") micro player that wouldn't see the flop with one of these hands. Did you consider re-raising PF? Granted, I play .5/1 and 1/2, not .05/.10, but I can't believe it gets any tighter down there . |

Re: AJs -
This limit (At my site) has plenty of lucky "fish" specially lately.. Huge influx of these.
However, I tried .25/.50 and theres alot more bluffing, LAGS, and less TAGS. This limit seems to be "Raise with good hand" "Fit or fold" and lucky players hitting 10 to 1 gutshots. I had the opponant on Ax and was 90% sure about that. So i felt i was ok to go to showdown thats for sure, Just wasnt sure if i wanted to make pot huge or not. and i lost to the two reasonable hands i thought they would be holding ( AQ/AK).. But then i said to myself "But no preflop raise?" however it seems passive play is the new aggressive play at my site. Thanks guys. |
