[ QUOTE ]
Why victims and families of victims should not be involved in anything after the guilt portion of the trial.

[/ QUOTE ]

What a load of garbage that is. While I disagree with this decision, saying that the victims should not be involved in the sentencing phase is just ridiculous, and it is obvious that Bison's bleeding liberal side is peeking out.

Who deserves to be more involved than the victims? They were the ones who were wronged, much more than the society as a whole.

The goal of sentencing is not to satisfy the families and friends of the victim.

I know that. But it should be the main goal.

Judging by the picture in your avatar, I could be your son(20).

It appears to be a dumb decision but I wouldn't be too harsh on the niece. Someone she loved was stomped to death and lit on fire by that man, I think she deserves a little slack for acting emotionally when it comes to that man. She was not the one who made the decision and has done nothing wrong.

You're as good with ages as you are with everything else. I'm 27.

a good lawyer could get this reversed and/or fixed....its just sad to see how far down our county and the people within it can go sometimes. Or maybe im just overly sensitive on this topic...ive always thought executed prisoners organs should be reused (if wanted) and that limitations on stem cell research should be lifted ::sigh::

i mean for the love of god he commited the murder 20 years AGO...they can wait 90 more days and save a life...to me they r no better than the murderer they r condemming for they are sealing the fate of another life

Frankly, I think the people that are denying the girl a liver transplant, and (I would assume) possiby killing her because of it, are almost as bad as the convicted murderer.

Things like this piss me off to no end. If the great niece's daugter needed the transplant and the murderer could supply the liver, I'm doubting she would let her daughter die to keep the murderer from being a "hero."

Although allowing the murderer time to recover seems pretty pointless.
