Re: central city/blackhawk
I don't play there often, but I usually win when I do. My best session was +$400, and $100-$200 is not unusual. The rake + jackpot drop + tip is high, but most of the players are completely clueless. I did have a session of 2-5in Cripple Creek once where I dropped $200 in about an hour. There were better than usual players at the table, and I got an amazing number of monster hands, all of which ended up second best. There was one clueless calling station at the table, but he was catching like crazy. In short, just a little run of bad luck. I think the 2-5 (and also the 5/5) games in Colorado are very beatable, but probably not for more than $8-$10 per hour at the most.

Re: central city/blackhawk
I've played there a couple of times, and found the Colorado Central Station Casino $2-$5 game to be pretty easy. Drunk college students staying till the river with middle pair...that kind of thing.
Maybe 1 useful tip: They close down all gambling at 2 a.m. and they announce that "this is the last hand of the night." If you have any kind of drawing hand, you may want to play it, because everyone plays and raises that last hand as a way to "catch up," before going home. It seems to be the biggest pot of the night. By the way, Kathy Liebert got her start by playing poker up there. |

Re: central city/blackhawk
I have seen the whole table go on tilt as early as 1:00AM. Everybody's trying to win one big pot before they have to leave.
