yeah...eugene is up to $50k now and I'm assuming he didn't re-buy while I wasn't looking.

I haven't been paying that much attention but Eugene may very well be having a very profitable night (however...he might just be battling his way back to even for all I know).

eugene got up to 67k and called it a night.
said he was too tired.

friggindonk had just rebought for another 20k but eugene had been mentioning that he could barely play anymore because he was so tired.

he asked donk if he wanted to play again tomorrow night and donk said sure.

donk just mentioned that eugene beat him for 50k...and eugene mentioned that he had never won this much before.

What a beating. I watched for 15 minutes and I serioulsy cant remember Friggin Donk winning a showdown. Eugeneel played great but wow did that Donk run bad.

I saw eugene get up to almost 65k and then fall back to 50k within their last 15 minutes of playing. So maybe you missed it.
But donk definitely won a few hands in there (possibly before you tuned in).

One hand donk called it down with 64 against eugene's K2 on a flop of 62J...i think eugene had 3-bet the turn with his bottom-pair.

Eugene knew when to get out of the way though...and would value 3-bet aplenty.
donk was afraid to bet for value with his winners a couple of times when he probably could have gotten a call out of eugene.

I was only partly paying attention...but you are certainly correct that donk took a serious beating.

heheheh

But yea, the Aruba hand, it was 400/800 I believe and the super-rich fished turned up something like 45o before the hand was done and went many many bets against Eugene with a gutshot.

He called the river with like 5 high for 1 bet and Eugene raked the whole damned thing.

right. that was the post i was referring to. his 18k pot as I recall.

I thought maybe the fish was playing the whole hand in the dark so eugene was betting away with his middle-pair or something.
i don't remember it all. but i do remember the fish asked eugene if he would show...and eugene milked another bet out of him by saying that he would only show if he was called.

that's whatmpressed some in the M/H forum...the fact that he already had the 17k pot....but still squeezed another $800 out of him.

whether the hand was face-up...or in the dark and then the fish looked at it or turned it up later...or what I don't know.

I also remember that supposedly Phil Gordon told the fish that he was embarassing and that nobody thought he was cool and that he should leave...which is obviously very uncool of gordon to try to get in the way of the game like that.

These 300/600 headsup matches seem pretty absurd. Do these people really think this is the best way for them to make money or do they just like attention?

Well considering the 500k+ streak the JarleeAA/Far has been on, yes it seems like an okay way to make money.
