When the games I played in had collection, I didn't chop.

When they switched to a big rake on any hand that had a flop, I chopped. I found that the other players didn't hate me any less.

WHY INSIST ON NOT CHOPPING

I just don't get it. Do you really think you're giving up any EV

Does anybody know estimated EV for chopping/not chopping? I would think in a raked game (like how it is at the casino where I play), it would be better overall to chop. Reasons being, you don't lose to the rake, and you continue onto other hands where you expect to have a better EV since you're not in the blinds. Also, is the EV better for the SB or BB to chop? I thought it would be better for the BB (assuming both of you are around the same skill level), as the SB has the option of stealing/folding. I don't have any calculations to show, though.

in a shorthanded (6 or leess) game it seems that the tables ive played at everyone agrees to not chop and its never been a problem

if you dont want to chop just let the players on your sides know --- as long as they are aware ahead of time im sure no onw will care

cheers

Most sessions I don't chop at canterbury and nobody has taken it in a negative way at all. As worm33 said, less and less players are chopping, though.

Yes, at least at 30/60 it's worth EV(over the rake)...especially because a lot of players don't know how to play well in the blinds/HU.

I don't chop. The only time I have ever seen someone get visably upset over chopping the blinds is when someone chops when they have crappy hands and wants to play when they have the goods. The only thing I find interesting about your post is that YOU THINK not chopping is being a dick, and yet you still do it. hrm.....
