the whole "bottleneck" aspect of the show makes it brutal

without that, it's easily the best reality show on tv next to the contender

Two hour season finale was tonight.

An hour and 20 minutes in Rob and Amber have amassed an amazing 3 hour and 7 hour lead on their competitors. Then in normal amazing race style they make a point where all 3 teams get tied again because the place they get their next clue doesnt open for long enough that they decided to go get a hotel for the night.

This makes the first hour and 20 minutes absolutely useless. What was the point?

Team goes up by a lot, is tied, then loses.

Sounds like you should only watch the fourth quarter of NBA and NFL games and the late innings of baseball games. I mean, if they're going to be tied near the end, the beginning is useless.

His point is that they basically force a tie becasue of the structure of the race. A better comparison would be that at the end of the 3rd quarter of an NBA game the winning team went to the bench, but the team that was behind got to keep playing for another minute or 2 and was given a chance to catch up.

when the airline reopened the cabin and let them get on. I'm sure the TV producers were behind that in some way.

[/ QUOTE ]

Of course they were. There were many previous flights where a team would beg airline officials to let them on the plane, but "due to security reasons" they absolutly cannot let them on. But on the last flight of the series, where it counted the most, "let me check with the pilot".. and they get on. Total BS.

People just love to whine and b*tch. That's the theme of the post. If the Race was the way OP wanted it, Rob and Amber would've had a massive advantage going into the last few tasks. Then he'd say: I only should watch the beginning because that's all that matters.

If you think about this realistically, it all makes perfect sense. There is no way for CBS to control how long tasks take and when people will get into cities. Of course if they flight in at night, the attraction will be closed. 90% of the show is luck. Deal.

People should be more up in arms about the AA pilot / CBS making the plane come back to the gate. That wasn't luck. That was pure manipulation of the rules.
