Re: Man proposes to gf, gets rejected, then falls off 200 foot cliff
[ QUOTE ]
Something bothers me. You can't leave a man to die on the side of the mountian, but it it really worth risking the lives of all the men who tried to rescue him in order to save him? Sounds like he is going to die/be a vegetable anyway, and the rescue could have killed everyone involved. [/ QUOTE ] Well, I do these kinds of rescues. If you ever get stuck, I'll be happy to leave you down there to die slow. Hell, if there's a war time draft and you become a POW, I'll be happy to let you be tortured for the next 10-20 years. But I will be trying to rescue everyone else. Still, rescues like this really aren't that dangerous to perform. Yes, technically it's dangerous, but we know what were doing so it's not really that dangerous. Plus I endanger my life like this for fun. Caving and climbing is fun. |

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Eventually, Olson was drugged to prepare him for extraction because he wouldn't stop flailing his arms and fighting with his rescuers, rangers said. [/ QUOTE ] Why would he do this? [/ QUOTE ] He was probably suffering from dementia due to massive head trauma or something like that. [/ QUOTE ] at least the dude was smart enough to try and get an asian chick |

[ QUOTE ] Authorities said Olson had been drinking beer – empty beer cans and a set of bongo drums were found near the crest of the mountain – and then "he went over the side." [/ QUOTE ] [/ QUOTE ] Bongos are nothing but trouble. |

Re: Man proposes to gf, gets rejected, then falls off 200 foot cliff
I applaud your efforts.
Maybe I was unclear. I wasn't trying to say that people shoulden't attempt daring rescues like the one mentioned, I was just playing devil's advocate and questioning the logic behind it. I guess the fact that we risk it is what seperates us. |
