I just find that this is impossible to believe based on the fact that stu won 10 out of 30(at least that good of a winrate) of tourneys he entered.I do believe he was a losing cash game player, but come on, you honestly dont think he had an advantage against David Sklansky heads up????? Im pretty sure that heads up in NL, he was the best ever.

I wouldn't argue the point that Stuey was one of the best and the best at No Limit. Sklansky wouldn't play him heads up in no limit if you want to make this type of simulation real he play him in a mixed game but I am sure D.S could use the topics in TOP to get some type of edge or try to pull even with him in No Limit. D.S in limit/7 stud/7stud8/Omaha8. Stuey in No limit.

the question was NL,so i guess we don't have different opinions. On any other type of poker my answer would be something along the lines of "not enough information".Unless that type of poker was gin rummy

D.S. would be a fool if he played Stuey heads up in Gin that would be like Josh Waitkin challenging Bobby Fischer in Chess. To make this a fair contest I think a mixed game would be offered if you want to make the offer a realistic view. I don't think anyone would play Stuey heads up in NL. This is a one sided question that would go unawnsered today if Stuey offered strictly NL.

The winner is Stu. No offense to DS, but if someone can make a call like that and negate your ability to bluff. Well I don't see how anyone could beat him.

You don't think Stu ever called with 10 high and got shown the nuts? Pobably wouldn't make as good of an article.

[/ QUOTE ]

Quite true.

It would have been interesting to see how much of a force Stuey would have been in today's big NL internet games.

Every time I think I have seen the stupidest thread possible on 2+2 I somehow get proven wrong.

As great as Stuey's talent was, remember this:
When he won the 3 WSOP ME he never had more than 400 entrants,
and his early wins were still in the era of very tight play
for most players, which Stuey exploited.
