I'm sure you'll be at worst a break even player, and I mean that sincerely. [/ QUOTE ] Why do you say this? |

Thanks for the comments. Looking back, I knew I had screwed up this hand and got lucky, which is why I posted it. The river bet, was definitely my worst move. I am not pushing him off any pair. My reasoning for the flop check/raise was that I felt the BB had raised and bet out under the presumption of weakness by myself and UTG. I figured if he 3-bet I could fold. When the 2nd Q hit on the turn, I figured my hand was good. I felt UTG was only a donator in this hand.

Really? For me it's the river bet, and it's not close. [/ QUOTE ] Care to share your reasoning? |

(I didni't read results of hand so maybe you won this, but the comments still apply)
I think you should have raised instead of completing and without a doubt you HAVE to reraise when it comes back to you to isolate and protect your hand. Check raise on the flop I think is a terrible move, what did you think you would accomplish with this move? you are only going to build a pot and give people good odds to draw out on you later. Your turn and river bets are bad plays in my opinion, you are probably beat and if someone had a Q from flop, which is a distinct possibility, then you are totally dead when the second Q hits. Again, what were you hoping to do with your bets. I think that you should have just called on flop, not raised, and that is if you played this hand at all from the flop on. One small bet I would see the turn, more than that I would fold. The turn I would check and fold to a bet, same on the river if I got there and didn't hit. |
