That is not really true Billy Jex...I dont see how that is an argument against just calling anyways

I understand the concept Haitus, but I think in these fairly fast paced MTT's, you need to look for spots to double up and accumulate chips, and think because of your open raise in late position you may get him to gamble preflop with more hands than you think.

Havenīt played this tourney for a while, but I think you start with 1000 or 1500, right? So you raise in the CO to 90, SB raises to 200. If you move in with KK and he mucks, you increase your stack between 15-20%. Not too bad, right? Of course you will run into AA sometimes, thatīs poker. Anyway, Iīm sure that AK or QQ and probably even JJ will call most of the times. So moving in surely is +EV.

Anyway, smoothcalling is fine, too. This sure is a hand you can play in many different ways. You can also make a small reraise and therefore get the other player potcommited. A raise to 500 or 600 will be called by JJ and TT most of the times. If these holdings are an overpair itīs not impossible to get all the money in on the flop (given the typical Party player).

Every strategy makes sense. Moving in is the play with the least risk IMHO.

Best regards

Put him on a range. Do you see how most of his hands are either *exactly* QQ-TT or have an ace in them, more likely the latter?

Now, if he calls, the river is the 2 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] and he bets 500/1000/pushes, can you fold?

So his implied odds to call your turn bet when he has something like A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Kx or A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Jx are...
