Re: Wow, that was me...
I min-reraised preflop so as not to scare villain away.
When he called preflop, and another Q fell on the turn, I micro-bet ($3) because I froze up a little. I was ready to move in if any other card besides A or Q had fallen on the turn. But when the Q fell, I figured that the Q would scare the daylights out of him unless he actually had the AQ. I didn't want to check, but I didn't want to bet the pot/push either. So, I bet $3 to see if he moved-in or called. Villain was not tricky at all, so I figured that a call would be a pair of aces (AK), and a push would be an AQ. I didn't think a flush was likely give the action here. So, when he called my $3 I was happy - and ready to value bet the river for $5 or so. But I just wasn't mentally prepared for that 3rd Queen to fall on the river. At that point, I knew I was beaten and I felt pretty stupid for being afraid of AQ on the previous street despite my reasoning, above (that I'd be happy to take critsism on, by the way). I am not happy about how I played it. And I should have bet more on the reraise preflop, and then bet more on the flop than what I did - and been happy to have won if I scared him off either time. This was obviously not my finest moment. More comments on my bad play are welcome. Here's the hand. It's scary that somebody here was at the table. Now you know who I am...
