3-bet preflop to remove BB from the hand. It is rarely good to just call a raise from the SB with no one else in the pot yet. You benefit so much from getting heads up with a hand that has showdown value.

It depends on the situation. But when MP3 opens, he is probably raising a wider range than normal, and AQ does well vs that range.
