Why does a call suck here. It seems preferable to me. You're not folding out any hand behind you that you would like to fold and you open yourself up to getting three-bet which DOES suck.

I generally agree, but I'd love to clean up my ace outs -- a flop raise could get A6 to fold and that would rule.

So you're only cleaning up one out in this case, whoopty do and if he does happen to also have the A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] then you're drawing to 2 or 3 outs anyway. I think the call is marginal as you don't know how many outs are clean, but a raise is definitely spewing.

If there is one thing I can say with absolute certainty, it is this:

Calling the flop is a terrible play.

The end.

When you get lead into on the turn, what do you do? Calling the flop is terrible IMO

Let me reiterate that raising this flop is absolutely terrible.

You are almost certainly behind here. A raise will not knock out the third man because the pot is so large if he has any sort of hand. You are drawing to an offsuit ace or king probably 60% of the time, an ace 20% of the time, and are drawing dead 20% of the time.

Raising does NOT improve your situation in any way. You call this flop, if you hit an ace or a king you raise. If it completes a four flush you fold to a 3bet otherwise call 3bets down. This hand is very simple.

Standard? I think this hand is a good example of when AKo goes from a really good 2 card hand to a not so very good 5 card hand. Raising that flop, getting 3 bet and folding a blank turn looks like aggression for the sake of aggression in the face of really bad cards. Maybe I'm wrong.

Ditto that. This is far from standard.

U do realize anybody with a club is a mathmatical favorite over u at this point....even if they have 75o with the 5 of clubs they are about 60 percent to your 40. U are not going to get anybody with a club or str8 draw to fold, u may be behind already, as far as AK at the most u have 4 outs, less if u discount it, which I think u should down to at least 2 outs.

I really believe raising does nothing on this flop, u will are defintly going to get raised...this reminds me of one of those situations that if u are not behind, someone with a draw on the flop is a mathmatical favorite but u revert to being the favorite on the turn (<font color="red">IF </font> no one has improved, and I dont think that is the case here)...

Look at how many outs u have. Now look at how many outs there are against u.

Haha.

Lets try something else, say they have T5o with the 5 of clubs, they are now 86 percent to win on the flop. Say a safe card now comes on the turn, they are now 90 percent to win it. It is u who is wrong. Have u read TOP by any chance?

The end.

PS: just so u know, I used to play 2/4 and I have seen T5o make the rounds even to a PF raise. While it is player dependant, I have seen this hand played often, sometimes even at 3/6.
