Like I said, it probably wouldn't be a decision popular with some of the 2+2 crowd, but I felt like it was the "Right" thing to do at the time.

BTW Paluka, this is ChrisD from IRC. Sup?

Am I the only one digusted that he gave the 10th place finisher 10k?

[/ QUOTE ]

He gave him 2k.

[/ QUOTE ]

Sorry, I meant 2k. I'm still disgusted.

[/ QUOTE ]

Please explain. He felt bad for a guy and gave him money. Why is that disgusting?

I don't really like his decision to give the money away, but I can understand why he would do it. And I'm not one to tell someone how they should or shouldn't spend their money. I am pretty sure I wouldn't do it though and he at least has claimed to learn his lesson. Time will tell.

No way I give him a big rebate like that for losing. If everyone wants to give him a a c-note, I'm in for it. But 2k out of my pocket alone? Something is wrong there.

That's a great response for why you wouldn't do it. Why would it make you sick that someone else would do it? All it says is that you have different views as to what is "right."

Never said it made me sick or disgusting. Just gave my opinion thats all.

FWIW. Poker is not about charity. It is about getting chips from the next guy and winning money. I can feel bad for a guy and still take his money. Maybe that is cold, but that is the way it is to me and I think the vast majority of people.

If the 10th man out, won that hand with JJ, and knocked out our hero, would he expect that that person would have handed him 2K? Doubt it.

I am am not paranoid - everyone really is out to get me.

i kinda envy the guy for doing it. i personally think it's nuts, but it shows an amazing generosity.

yeah, i forgot about that part of the story. takes away some of my warm glow towards OP. regardless, congrats.

(oh, and it's very poor form for the table to hate on the guy who doesn't want to deal. if i were him, i'd say "no, i don't want that deal, give me 50% than i 'deserve' by chip count and i'll take it.")

I don't get it, one person doesn't want a deal and the table treats him like a sub-human?

That person who said they wished he had a heart attack sure would have a nice reality check if the guy DID die on the way home.

I don't understand how you all were so upset. Just bust him and then make a deal... why did you guys feel the need to berate him?
