Offspring, Nirvana and Greenday should win 90s. But U2 will win because that is the band everyone is required to like even though they suck balls. [/ QUOTE ] Well, the results are open, but I would've bet the house on Radiohead being top 2, and I would've been right. |

I actually haven't listened to Nirvana in a long time. They were a big band in the early 90s and basically kicked off grunge music and inspired a bunch of bands to come. Even if you don't like them, you probably like at least one band whose music was inspired by Nirvana. Offspring is one band who was encouraged by Nirvana (especially in the album "Ignition"). I am not currently a big Nirvana fan, but I respect them because they instigated a lot of the music I like today. That is why I think they should be considered a top band of the nineties.

The tragically hip are actually a 90s band. [/ QUOTE ] No $hit... where the hell did he get "60's" from??? The Hip's first real album, "Up to Here," was actually released Sept. 5, 1989. However, they actually had non-famous album released earlier than that... i forget the name - go figure. If more Canadians were polled the Hip would likely win this whole damn poll - hands down. Tragically hip are a good Canadian band that came out in like 1988 or something.
I dont consider Janes Addiction a 1980's band and neither does anyone else with half a brain(dont tell me they were formed in like 1987..they still werent a 80's band) The Cars should have been on the 80's list. On the 1990's alot of the OOT posters are like 18-20 so I think the results are skewed a bit ....Pearl Jam shouldnt be getting half the votes Radiohead is getting thats just wrong. |
