I agree with you that betting here is good also. I suppose it all depends on table image and the history against a player. Im not always betting a missed flop after a raise, and I would sometimes bet this flop especially when I know that my opponent will call me with a pocket pair. But this player is unknown to me, and I'm probalbly unknown to him. I'm just not sure in the long term what is the most profitable line.

It seems to me that you had him trapped already. After his large raise on the turn, I'd like a nice sized reraise. Sometimes you can get too greedy and let him catch up a little more then you'd have hoped.

If I were in the hand I would probably call. After looking at the hand though, it would seem that you're beat. An overpair like A's or K's would probably reraise you preflop. Also, after the heart hits on the river a pot sized bet seems pretty bold after your previous calls. What underpair could he be betting the river with that you beat, J's? It still doesn't seem to fit.

My guess would be 77 or TT.

or 33. If hero is not behind he is fortunate. If villain is a clear tightie based on stats and won showdown % I fold the river.

edit - hero should be jumping for joy if he calls and get shown KQ or QJ.
