putting on the gloves and helping HfH put up the housing would be equally satisfying. you would also meet new people and stuff. chicks dig volunteers.

Chicks who dig volunteers don't put out, go for the ones that like money.

equally satisfying, maybe... but it doesn't help the charity as much. just as it's -EV for schneids or any other good poker player to work at a construction site, it's -EV for the charity if he does physical labour for them rather than playing poker for the same amount of time. the money schneids can be expected to make could probably be used to pay 8-10 guys to work for the same amount of time.

"putting on the gloves" might be "equally satisfying" or even more so, but it helps a whole lot less. and the whole point of giving to charity is helping others, not making yourself feel better about yourself... or it should be at least.

this is a cool idea. if you lose though, you guys should present habitat with a bill for what you lost plus gas expenses

Good idea, great charity. My housemates and I had a charity kegger for them a few months ago and ended up raising a few hundred dollars.

Schneids-

Spent my last summer volunteering for my local Habitat program. Built 7 duplex buildings in that span, housed 14 families by christmas. Absolutely an awesome cause. So fulfilling. What you are doing is awesome. Thanks.

poker is a pretty meaningless career in terms of benefiting society. I have a great deal of respect for players who consistently use a portion of their winnings to try and make a difference. Hopefully I will be good enough to afford to do so someday. Good luck on friday.

Good charity, I helped sheetrock a HFH place a couple years back for a day, and learned something valuable in the process.

They had garnered enough donations in the area, to put up about 20 new homes there.
