I agree - the NL section on buying short and playing ultra-tight is information that is not in print anywhere. Even a good NL player can benefit from this stuff. That section really makes me excited for Ed and Sklansky's NL book.

"In print" means published. It's probably true that everything useful about poker can be found somewhere on 2+2 forums/archives, but thats not what I meant.
By the way, what post are you referring to?

I got big hopes for this book. Just ordered it Friday. I'm hoping it'll fill in the gap for me between WLLH and SSH(thats still a bit above me)

I received my book as well. I have to say this book is a great beginner book and IMHO is much better then WLLH. Great job Ed! So far my favorite section is your step by step approach at different hands in limit.

Im actually ordering it today. I'm hoping it will be a good beginnning guide to NL as well as possibly filling any basic gaps that I have since I started with TOP and SSHE.

Is anyone having problems getting their copy? I preordered, but I still haven't received it.

I don't mean to sound impatient - I'm just really looking forward to reading it.

In one of the "live at the bike" threads, I called Shirley on this (and she corrected herself on the air, which was cool of her) when she talked about the advantage "always" being with the guy who has the most money. Mason has written about how playing a tight short-stacked strategy works in NL cash games. While certainly not for everyone in every situation, it absolutely is a viable strategy that far too few employ. Always great to see 2+2 evolving everyone's game.

Why does playing ultra-tight with a shortstack work in NL cash games?
