In the current game, I am far and away the best player.

That's hilarious. I just read your post where you said that you banned 2 players and the guy that brought them for being better than you. I guess that's one way to stay the best player.

Although not as ugly, we had a regular bring two "friends" to the same game. Turned out they were regular casino players from LA. They had more skill than most of us, so it wasn't too much fun.

We gave him a one game suspension and barred the "pros" for life. Geez, it's a home game, not the Commerce Casino!

So, rather than ban a guy we WANT in the game (he brought the studs because he always leaves his money there and this was some kind of get-even play), we just put him on the bench.

lol, good find samiam.
thats funny, very funny. i hope this guy loses all his earnings from bad beats because that is so whack to ban players cuz they are better than you lol

This is a fantastic post. Now I know how to stay the best player in my home games too! Man, the irony!

This is the method I use for remaining the best player. In general I find that adding a shot with a Louisville Slugger only adds to my intimidation over the other players in the game.

Good find Sam, Uttbugly you are a clown.

Probably a good way to get invited back is if you have them convinced that is was by pure luck that you won some money. <WITH PITTIFULL LOOK ON FACE>"Wow, I'm sorry, I've never caught cards like this before."

[/ QUOTE ]

i pull this act quite frequently. i think Mike Caro or someone said it best. you want to be nice to people because if they are comfortable they wont mind giving you their money. you dont want to insult or intimidate them because then they are less of an ATM.

in the past week im up ~200 in a $10 NL game. every good play i make i simply state man i just got lucky. there is definately some animosity when you are sitting there with the majority of the chips their eyes can burn a hole right thru you. and as an example, this one guy had already lost about $30 to me and im sitting there with 92 in the big blind and the flop comes K 9 x adn then i hit a 2 on the river. he played it poorly the whole way just calling my bets and then on the river he raises all in and im like damn hes gonna be [censored] pissed when he sees my hand. i thought long and hard there. i knew i had the hand won but i was really close to laying my hand down just to keep the guy playing. at the last moment i decided to call him because i didnt want anyone to think we were colluding. everyone was like Damn and all i said was "sorry man, i just got really lucky." which is half true. the guy rebought again and i ended up calling his raises with some junk a couple times and folding on the turn. he ended up getting half his money back.

also, i take my bad beats with the same style as my wins. even level of emotions. u want to act the same way when u lose and when u win. some guys get all pissed when they lose. they start crying and whining and one of them even threw my deck of Kems hard onto the table and they flew everywhere so i told him do that again you are never coming back. if you make them believe you are just there to have fun and gamble then they will come back all the time. try to stay low and they wont notice the fact that you have won money every time you play with them.

LOL! I thought there was something fishy about his post when he said all the players were good to very good. I've never played in a game that had more then 1 or 2 other good players by the standards of the forum we're posting on
