You should....

I think you are backwards about who you want in this hand...

If the SB will fold QQ/JJ/AK to any sort of re-raise from you, than calling is the right play....However, if he is going to call your re-raise with those hands, you most certainly should 3-bet....You should be much more concerned with the button getting to see a flop for cheap here...He is almost certainly drawing live against you, so you would be better off making him pay the max to see any kind of flop...

But as I said, getting the dominated SB to fold would be bad here, so I think you have to consider whether he is calling a small re-raise, or an all-in, or no re-raise whatsoever, and act accordingly

You're not very deep. Three-bet.

i usually likes to take the more aggresive line but here i am not so sure. You clearly want button in the pot with whatever garbage he is holding.
Problem is if you go allin here it may be too much too call for button. If you choose to smoothcall then he is much more likely to come along with say a hand like QJo with which he might very well pay you off with if he hit a pair or any sort of draw like gutshot+ two overcards.

So i say you should call the preflop raise hoping for an overcall by the button, you will run the risk of letting him outdraw you by catching an ace for an exemple but that is just poker,
then go allin on any flop not containing an ace. another problem with smoothcalling preflop is if an ace flop and SB holds TT-QQ you aren't getting paid off.

i will usually not three bet without KK or AA.

[/ QUOTE ]

if villain knows this then, smooth call seems much better

if he doesn't, and you said he's loose, though - would he gamble AIPF with less than KK? if so pushing work (if he doesn't know yur pushing range)

just to reiterate, my default has always been immediate call, (ie didn't want to let worse hands off the hook as my push ment AA or KK) but it's not clear cut.

If you are asking you shouldnt be playing 2 5 NL. You move in there no questions asked. If he has aces he does that happems from time to time. Regardless get your money in. regardlis u have a 25% at worst of winning the hand. And in all liklihood you are ahead esp 6 handed

That wasn't the question. He "knows" he's ahead. His question was about profit maximization based on his reads of the other players involved.
