If "literally" no longer means 'literally', it has no reason to exist, and we'll have to invent a new word for the meaning that "literally" formerly conveyed.

I was not aware of this. Perhaps I've been getting in arguments with people who didn't know what literally meant. They meant virtually and I thought they actually meant literally. Now if something is literally random what exactly does that mean?
