Re: TPNK And A Big Field
I don't like making the pot bigger with such a weak hand. a raise would just pump the pot. a turn bet keeps the pot small and doesn't give a free card.
I don't see how raising the flop accomplishes anything other than trying to get out the 2 extra players, but I'm not that concerned with them really. I think it's kind of like the NL concept of keeping the pot small out of position |

I would have went ahead with the flop checkraise. I think i bet the turn and fold to a raise. [/ QUOTE ] I like this, except I might call down a turn raise, if only 1 or 2 opponents left. -ptmusic |

But yes, you're right, a turn bet would have been order, especially since it would be so easy to fold to a raise. |

Re: TPNK And A Big Field
I try to go for CR's if I think I can cut down the field. In this case, no one would be folding to your raise. So, I'd wait until the turn to lead out or CR a safe card. A spade scares me so I'd check the turn and see the action. Once it gets checked through, I lead the river too. NH.

Re: TPNK And A Big Field
[ QUOTE ]
Why? [/ QUOTE ] Because it is unlikely you'll bet bluff raised in this spot, you might take the pot down immediatly, you are going to call anyway unless it's 2 back to you, and if you are ahead you don't want to give a free card. So really, the only advantage of not betting is to save a BB those times that one of the first 2 remaining players bets and then gets raised after you have checked. The advantages of a bet outweight this advantage, IMO. |
