I'm with pretty much everyone else on this one.

3 bet preflop

raise the flop for the free card/value but capping is a lot like spewing.

take the free card on the turn

raise the river

I'm ambivalent about the flop raise (unlike everyone else), but capping the flop has a good chance of getting him a free card -- don't see a thing wrong with it. In for a penny, in for a pound, and all that crap.

Of course, you have to TAKE the free card . . .

With a flopped 4 flush hero is about 2:1 to make it by the river. With 3 others already in the flop raise seems like a good value bet as well giving a chance for a free river card should he miss the turn. Of course with a paired board his flush might not be any good.

Once BB 3 bets and everyone leaves all bets are off. Capping will not ensure a free card and it is now crappy value with only one opponent; especially one who seems to really like his hand.

If hero knew BB was going to 3 bet maybe the flop raise is bad.

The question is, what chance is there that the BB 3-bets the flop? 50-50? What is the chance that UTG/MP run away? And what's the chance you hit the flush, and that it's good? Definitely can do the math on this one, gist is that I think there's at least a 50% chance that the BB 3-bets and that makes the flop raise far less than automatic.
