Re: Overplayed Top Set?
With 4 limpers (+ the BB) you almost have the odds to raise preflop with a baby pair for the set value alone (I would with 5 limpers, or from the BB). The fact that your pair (JJ) are almost a premium pair, makes this a definate raise.

Re: Overplayed Top Set?
Raise preflop.
Bet out on the flop. twodimes.net: <font class="small">Code:</font><hr /><pre> pokenum -h js jd - 8h 8s -- 9d jh 8c Holdem Hi: 990 enumerated boards containing 8c 9d Jh cards win %win lose %lose tie %tie EV Js Jd 915 92.42 43 4.34 32 3.23 0.940 8s 8h 43 4.34 915 92.42 32 3.23 0.060 pokenum -h js jd - 8h 8s -- 9d jh 8c 4s Holdem Hi: 44 enumerated boards containing 4s 8c 9d Jh cards win %win lose %lose tie %tie EV Js Jd 43 97.73 1 2.27 0 0.00 0.977 8s 8h 1 2.27 43 97.73 0 0.00 0.023 </pre><hr /> So he hit his one outer? We should expect an "Overplayed bottom set?" hand, I think. |
