How about something more like a race?

You could set it up to where each player starts at the first casino and can't advance to the next one until they win a hand with a pocket pair or AK. Each casino could have a multiplier that got higher as you go down the list, so there's a benefit to moving down the list. Everybody could put in something like $50 and the winner gets a good chunk of it.

hahahaha. I'll see you in Vegas.

For the record, this was the exact previous idea that we had, but as a group we discussed this and our organizer came up with the new skins idea. It would allow us to stick together as a group a little better.

So, yes I think the Anonymous Gambler who reg'd today and made his first post here is one of our crew, though I don't know who it is yet

Oh and not sure if you wrote it but what are you going to put in for the winner? sorry if you explainied that.

The winner would win the skin for that casino. We'll start at a $2 skin ($2/person) at the Sahara, and it'll be $15/person by the time we get to Mandalay Bay.

The revised rules are better for a smaller group. It doesn't make a whole lot of sense to pay the top three places with only four entrants, but you could make it winner-take-all.

I just liked the original rules because there was some strategy involved - let's say you're early on, and you've already won with a qualifying hand, but you're down. Do you stick around to get positive and get some points, or just take the zero and move on? That element is removed with the fixed time limit.

I had to re-register because my previous username wasn't working for some reason, but here's a hint: Right now, I'm the only one flying there.

I certainly did like the other idea. I'm not so sure I liked the idea of walking from casino to casino alone at 4AM though. I'd probably stumble into the wrong alley and get mugged. The whole "race" aspect is always a fun one for me. Perhaps we'll be able to change things around for a trip in July. The stamina thing would be even a bigger deal when we're walking outside in the sun.

See ya there.

There is not nearly enough alcohol involved in this plan.

I love the idea. It has potential to be the Ironman of Poker. Of course, a triathon has 3 events. Might I suggest:

- Shots of booze (maybe the winner of the skin has to do a shot)
- Strip Clubs. Give all new meaning to skins.

Let me know what I need to do to be in.

I like the shot per skin idea as well.

I also think that 1 hr is a little short BTW, just because of wait times. Kick it up to 1.5 of 2 hrs per and you've probably got a winner.

How would you divvy up the winnings?

I'm thinking that the winner would take a shot so he'll be handicapped back to the rest of the pack as the night goes on.

Oh, and poker winnings stay with you. The skins won is what we're playing for.

I love it and would enjoy participating in it. But at the same time I think that if we all hoped in cabs that would be fine too. As for the drink part of the scam...er a game....I couldnt participtate in that aspect as I dont drink.
