[ QUOTE ] Not raising the river is a crime against humanity. [/ QUOTE ] What's my sentence? [/ QUOTE ] I was going to say, you have to visit OOT and post a minimum one-paragraph response to each of the last ten threads, but that seemed a little too cruel. As the SB might have actually folded for two bets, no one else called anyway, and you ended up chopping the pot with MP, I'll let you off with a warning . |

Re: JTs, humongous pot. Oh, and I moved up.
ok. two people limped to him and he raises. are you raising here after only 1 limps? if so, and i assume you are raising after all 3 limp or 0, then you raise this hand in every unraised pot pre flop?
what are you doing if the middle man raises after that UTG limper? thanks for any help. |

10,000 river value bets is your sentence.

Re: JTs, humongous pot. Oh, and I moved up.
Thinking about it more, a river raise from the hero is ok, because its likely that even if BB and UTG fold, at least SB will call, and then he'll get trapped into a cap.
Add to that the chances of at least one of the two other opponents calling two cold, and a river raise is clearly best. Obviously the mistake of just calling isn't huge or anything, because any missed bets would have been chopped up anyways. But it is a shame MP didn't go for the check-raise. |

Re: JTs, humongous pot. Oh, and I moved up.
A lot of folks use the general rule of raising any number of limpers on the button with any suited broadway. It's a pretty good rule.
About the only time it might be a bad idea is if one of the limpers is really tight/passive. Even then, it should be fine if there are some other loose limpers coming along. |
