Thanks to everyone for the suggestions. I think after reviewing some hands I'm sticking too long with good hands I know are beat. In 2/4 I get away with more due to really loose people calling my TPTK all the way down. In 3/6 it's just not as common and more often I'm losing to 2-pair, not adjusting to the increased aggression.
Combine that failure on my part with a poor run of cards and it spells big losses. I'll go with the very limited stop-loss each time. Test the waters, analyze the hands, drop back down if I see problems. |

I recommend that until you get used to the stakes, that you play shorter sessions with a strict stop/loss, and stop/win limit on the order of 10-15 big bets. After each of these short sessions, take a break, analyze what went right or wrong, and then play another short session. After a while, you will be more used to the swings that occur, and you can take the training wheels off. [/ QUOTE ] i think this is great advice for anyone looking to move up. also if you normally four table, try two at first. good luck. |

Sigh, yea, tried again. Set a 30BB limit. Went 3 wins for 174 hands. I'm just at a loss for words, it seems so impossibly improbably for cards to go cold the exact instant I move up.
Sorry, venting, just blew 30BB in less than an hour, for about the 10th time at 3/6. |

Here's the stats from the last couple months of attempts. I know, I know, small sample, deviation, etc. It just amazes me though the complete opposite results from such similar play numbers. I don't have a place to host the image, so I'll just type the numbers:
Level, Hands, VPIP, BB/100, WSD, W$SD, PFRaise 3/6, 3392, 19.34, -1.96, 29.51, 51.59, 7.84 2/4, 5593, 19.31, +5.73, 29.91, 59.45, 8.03 |
