Re: How bad is this play by villain?
[ QUOTE ]
He turned a double gutter with an A overcard. He could represent a big hand while trying to get the CO or any bigger A out. [/ QUOTE ] Thanks bernie, that's it! I did not notice the "double" gutter until I read your post. I will punish myself by not posting for a period of 48 hours... |

Preflop: Hero is Button with 5, 5. UTG raises, 3 folds, MP3 calls, CO calls, Hero 3-bets, 2 folds, MP3 calls, CO calls. [/ QUOTE ] You are right, very bad |

Bad play by your opponents make you money. Repeat it again, bad play by your opponents make you money.
Remember that and move on to the next case. |

Re: How bad is this play by villain?
[ QUOTE ]
I don't like the raise from the MP guy because he is on a draw and it he has to bluff through two players to win. [/ QUOTE ] I actually kind of like the turn raise. If Hero is on a whiffed AK he might fold, and MP3 is facing CO with 2 cold. And as you pointed out, it's a semibluff raise...he's double-gutted to the straight, and if Hero isn't on AK, then his A outs are probably good as well. Tack on the fact that there's an all-in, and so his raise gains some legitimacy because everyone knows he'll have to show down, and I don't dislike his turn raise in the least. With all his outs and the size of the pot, it doesn't have to work too often to come out ahead. |

Re: How bad is this play by villain?
The turn raise by MP3 was pretty bad.... almost as bad as 3 betting preflop in to an UTG raise. What were you thinking? You weren't even getting the odds to call.
