[ QUOTE ] I would highly suggest reading both Small Stakes Hold'Em and Hold'Em for the Advanced Player. [/ QUOTE ] Everyone else agree? HPFAP for Party $3/6? I own it, but haven't considered studying it yet since SSHE and ToP seem to have covered the micros through $2/4 quite nicely. Always thought HPFAP was mid-stakes (e.g. $15-30+). Comments appreciated. [/ QUOTE ] It's definitely worth a read. I read it back when I was playing 1/2 and it helped my game. As long as you can avoid FPS the book will help you at any limit. |

Comments appreciated. [/ QUOTE ] Against your average Party 3/6 opponent most of the lessons in HPFAP are wasted. But you will run into a greater percentage of good players, who will be be using ideas discussed in that book. For that reason, I think it will definitely increase your win rate for 3/6, both by helping you identify your (good) opponents' hands, and by allowing you to take advantage of their plays to extract the maximum when you're ahead (or even to force the odd fold when you're behind). So in a nutshell, I think reading HPFAP will come in very handy when you end up HU vs. another TAG in a blinds battle, for example (and the book does contain an excellent chapter on playing shorthanded/HU, and blind stealing & defense, which are both integral parts of the 3/6 game). |

I actually had the opposite expierence. I mainly only play 3/6 on Fridays and Saturdays...but have had my best days playing 3/6 compared to 2/4...maybe because I seem to get sucked out way more on 2/4.
Got hammered on a little dip in the 5/10 pool though..too deep for me. |

I'm probably one of ten men in the world who think she's sexy (didn't recognize her that time). And I really dig her voice.
