Default Re: Better place to live: AC or Foxwoods?

Agreed.

Foxwoods is in the middle of a social and economic black hole. And the crime in the neighboring regions ain't that great, either.

I mean, CT gets this reputation as being a fairly wealthy state, and for the most part it is, but virtually none of that wealth can be found in eastern CT outside of a couple of massive casinos.

If you want to live near Foxwoods and still have some hopes for a job market in driving distance, I think you're going to be stuck with something like Providence, which is getting stuck indeed.

Typically, it'd take a sustained shiite storm to get me to even consider living in NJ. The prospect of living near Foxwoods would certainly qualify.

Go to the west coast where they have better games, hotter weather, and looser women. Get as far as possible away from upstate NY.

Default AC NOT FOXWOODS

this is a no brainer, ac has better games and more choices of where to play. you cant beat a summer down here. theres a bunch of great places to live....try somers point ventnor or northfield for decent housing prices. i play NL at trop a few days a week and its only a 15 minute drive from somers point. ok im out ppeace

Foxwoods is pretty much like Turning Stone, except it is a bigger Indian Casino in a depressed area slightly less in the middle of nowhere.

AC is in NJ, but it is not Bayonne. It is kind of sleazy and I wouldn't walk around town at night. It is near the beach and there are a lot of nice areas around. It probably has the most tables next to Las Vegas and LA.

There isn't much of anywhere else to play legally in the northeast. There are poker rooms in most of the far west, Louisiana, Mississippi, Detroit, and Chicago.

hahaa.... ct has a reputation for being full of snobs and rich honkies because its consistently been at the top 1/2 for individual state per capita income for the last 20 years. not because of 2 casinos that have only been there the last ten.

and as far as there being a black hole around the casinos... yeah basically thats true. it always struck me as ironic that the worlds biggest casino resort was built in the richest state in the country, yet in one of the rare poor areas in the middle of nowhere.

as for crime... as long as youre not in hartford new haven or bridgeport its not even an issue. its connecticut!

as for jobs... its no different in ct than anywhere else in the country right now.

biggest advantage to living in ct... getting to live in the same state as conan obrian, the blonde guy from dawsons creek, martha stewart, the older brother from boy meets world, and 50 cent. obviously.

i mean why would tony move samantha and all his posessions from nyc to ct if it wasnt way way better? i mean angela isnt that hot. i mean seriously.... that was some frosted hair.. even for the 80s. mona on the other hand...

In New Jersey, gasoline is full serve only. Very nice on cold windy days.

alright guys, i think im set on new jersey. thanks for the advice. keep the tips coming if you got any.

my original plan was to move to nj, but foxwoods is closer to my parents by a few hours. my father wanted me to move to foxwoods, and was trying to convince me by saying that there is alot more to do in the area than at AC. i found this hard to believe, but he said that foxwoods is close to hartford, close to mystic, close to rhode island, close to some sort of place where you swim with dolphins and stuff. he says the crime will be significantly less.

its quite obvious that though he just wants me to live closer, which is flattering, but i think id be happier in new jersey.

ive been to both areas several times btw, but im not all that familiar with the areas. ive been to wildwood, and my aunt lives about an hour and a half from AC, so ive been to the rural areas of NJ several times. havent really seen much of connecticut though.
