Quote: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Three cold callers ahead and position would make me wanna get in ths juicy pot. Why didn't you capp the turn? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Because I was heads-up with a guy that call/3-bet the flop. [/ QUOTE ] Still don't know why you didn't 3 bet the turn...take his money. Looks like a guy with AA in absolute denial that someone can be holding a 7. |

Take that back...missed the fact that is was UTG+1 who came back at you and not the PFRer. Although...I still might 3 bet.

So cold calling with 57s and 87s is something I must now learn to do huh?

It's pretty simple on the button with multiway action...this hand will win a very large pot if it hits. Obviously, if someone raised utg and there is one coldcaller, you'd fold it.

This play won't make you rich, but being the blind little follower I am, I'm trying to take Nate's "you play too tight" post to heart.

Re: 87s a button cold call we all can hate...
I really don't like the flop raise. I don't think you have enough equity to raise for value in this spot so the raise must be for a free card. I don't think you'll get this often enough for it to be worth it. With so many players, UTGs bet probably is a little more likely to be a made hand than overcards, although not always. If not, and he doesn't 3-bet, there's a great chance someone else could bet into you on the turn.
Some people were posting some old favorite threads in the Hold'em forum, and I was reading an old one of Clarkmeister's about 5 things LL hold'em players need to unlearn. The first one was the free card play, and while in real passive games like those seen at 2/4 and some 3/6 games this play often works, for the most part I don't think it works very much in spots like this. Anyways, just my thoughts, I'd like to hear if you thought your raise was for value or if you we're trying for a freebie. |

I was also kind hoping that UTG might do something silly like 3-bet AK. It was a quick decision, I regretted it the split second before I got 3-bet by UTG+1 and if I had to do it again I would just call. |
