[ QUOTE ]
And most of these people lose their money to 2+2'ers anyway. [/ QUOTE ] Yes. But there is nothing inherent in skill that makes skilled people less likely to cheat unfortunately. And it's not the colluders directly stealing my cash that has me worried, it's them drying out the pond of fish, both directly and by scaring fish off. |

Why is what he did any different than if the same conversation had taken place at a B&M table? At a live table it would be considered part of the game, and no one would raise an eyebrow if he misrepresented his hand. He would be bluffing and his friend would be a bad poker player to take his word for it. All's fair.... [/ QUOTE ] one difference is that in a bm game, the whole table would be aware of the discussion. |

Actually, a lot of B&M's have a rule in tourneys that one player in a hand cannot say anything to induce or reduce action. This goes whether the player is correctly representing his hand or not. The intent of this rule to prevent collusion.

I just watched the movie Rounders last night, and in that, Matt Damon and Worm has a set of signals they used to clue each other into their hands. They shared their profits and losses though.

The conversation had no impact on any other player. I agree in general that it is a bad idea for two people to play in the same game and to be in contact other than through chat. In this particular case, no harm, no foul. |

There are a lot of people that will do nearly anything to beat you at poker. Some will even jeopardize their bankroll in the process (cause they ain't too smart).
What are you willing to do in your own defense? Hint: An e-mail to customer support is almost the same as whacking off. |

[ QUOTE ] so your kinda just as bad as the guy you were busting on about his chip dumping on poker host?. [/ QUOTE ] Why is what he did any different than if the same conversation had taken place at a B&M table? At a live table it would be considered part of the game, and no one would raise an eyebrow if he misrepresented his hand. He would be bluffing and his friend would be a bad poker player to take his word for it. All's fair.... [/ QUOTE ] Private conversations are not allowed on a B&M table. All players must be able to hear the conversation. |
