Can DSklansky beat the $4/8k

this is only partially related but... I was chatting with Erik Lindgren and he said that he had started playing the $1k/$2k game but was not beating it yet.

I have very little knowledge of it but if Sklansky could beat the $4k/$8k game, I am pretty sure he would do it. I agree with another poster who said that very few players in the world can beat that game. Can you imagine a -200 BB downswing at that level ($1.6mm)???

What would you say is the maximum rate that the best poker player in the world can beat it for, in terms of BB(estimating of course)?

Are you saying every player in that game is a long term loser? Just seems kindof odd considering how long some people have been playing at that level.

ah, that makes more sense. Wouldn't it be funny if DS makes just as much long term at 300/600 as a top player might get at 4k/8k.

I thought I read somewhere that it's 1/4 BB per hour at the higher levels for a winning player long term according to Lederer. Not even sure this is at that level even.

i guess my question is - how are so many regulars in that game? it seems gus, greenstein, ivey, daniel n, doyle and chau giang just to name 6 are each regulars in that game. are there a couple who are bleeding away and just dis-illusioned to that fact?

this has been asked millions of times. there is no definitive answer. its all speculation. we are not sophisticated enough as players to judge the players at that level if they are winners or not. the best evidence that we have as players is to look at barry greenstein player ratings, along with the other's players at that level's opinions and take it for what it is. there are obviously long term losers in that game, as it is in the game's nature. who are they? we can only speculate.
