I understand the argument about the overcalls, but i think that in this big of a pot the other player will call two just as readily as one. I suppose it's close. I really don't see someone cold calling with 107s unless he is very fishy like i wrote in my first post, and I tend to think a fish that did cc this would slow play the hand. It smells a whole lot more like a lower set.

Myles:

I know others have said it, but I will chime in here for added effect. Raise the flop....you must raise the flop.

Like i said the turn is close and with the posibility that it gets re-raised behind, i suppose it's a fold. I think that 17:2 and 18:2 if there is no re-raise is enough to call here (with a little more in implied odds), but for the third time it's close and i don't mind a fold.

i agree with the overcalls that he will probably call two if he was going to call one. But I guess it goes more in the we'll likely lose two bets if we're behind and gain 1 bet if we are ahead so we have to be ahead here greater than 66%? (not sure if the math is correct)

Yeah, that's the easy part... What do you think about the turn and river?

I thought we didn't want overcallers when the pot is large.

I think even if hero raises the flop it still gets capped. If he leads or checks the turn it looks like he is calling two cold at best most likely investing 4BB to see the river I think he has to let it go on the turn when forced to call two cold.

MP3 isn't going to fold any hand that beats us on the river no matter how much we bet, but will call with many more hands that we beat especially for 1 bet. I really don't think it matters that much because with such a large pot and coming this far along I don't think he is folding even for 2 bets unless he was on some weird busted draw, but I expect MP3 to have K9 here.

You know...I'm looking back at this hand to analyze it a bit more thoroughly, and it's hard to say without some reads....what does MP3 cold call with etc.

yeah...that's my thought's. Even if you can't protect (though overcards may fold) you can certainly raise for value. You have an overpair and a gutshot to the nut straight.

Hard to say how the turn may have played out if you would have raise the flop.
