I got a free 17 inch lcd samsung from www.freeflatscreens.com, the same people behind www.freeipods.com.

It's a pain to do, but not a scam.

Wow! What do you have to do... just give them your email address, and some friend's email addresses? How many friends? Any other requirements?

I had to get 7 of my friends to sign up for free trial offers to various places. basically, they sign up for a month, then cancel. it was a pain, and I paid some of them like $10 for their time. but I got my monitor just as promised.

My friend did one of these, except to get a free Alienware computer. The deal on his was that he was entered into a queue the was X people long. For each space, you had to get Y people signed up (I think it was 20 in his case). Then the person at the front of the queue would be bumped off, receive his "free" computer, and everyone else would move up a spot. Rinse and repeat until you get yours.

So if you entered the queue 20 deep, you'd need ~400 people to join before you got your free computer. Not very likely, even if it only costs $20.
