I wish I was patient enough to bet that, but unless I'm gonna put a grand I can't afford to lose on it I don't wanna tie up money now and have to wait AGES to cash in on this SURE THING NL CENTRAL LOCK OF THE MILLENIUM

[/ QUOTE ]

You do realize that this had nothing to do with my original post. I could agree with you on this point and yet my original post still be a valid profitable piece of information.

"Well played" my friend.

Yes...you pointed out the difference. I get it. There's value there.

I wasn't trying to sell the Cubs just pointing out a substantial difference in odds if you buy shares on trade sports.

I don't know why you think asking 'what are the odds against the cubs to win the division' should require such a defensive response. I didn't think you were trying to sell anyone on the cubs and I didn't think beantown was either.

I do think that you got really defensive really fast for some reason.

I think asking what the odds on the cubs not winning the division (thereby implying that he might be more interested in one of those bets) hardly is a rude question. It's the same question I had as well.

Ummmm....if there was a place where I could bet against the Cubs to win the division I would jump all over it.

Tradesports. Cubs not to win is floating around -200 or so.

That is the cool thing about Tradesports; you can sell/buy at any time.

I agree with you. Further against the Cubs and for the Cubs are relatively close to a profitable opposite bet. I should never have discouraged that question.

On the other hand...

HOU and STL should make this close to a 3-horse race again.
CIN and PIT could be reasonably competitive as well.

1st, regardless of odds you want to Fade the Cubs.

2nd You like Pittsburgh.

Here is a bet I'd offer you.

If either one or both the Pirates or Astros win more games than the Cubs in 2005 you win the bet. If nether team wins more I win.

The bet doesn't have to be money it could be a posting or avatar type bet. Nothing that would get us in trouble with Mat though.

This is in the spirit of good fun and I am sorry if I were a bit defensive.

i think the Pirates COULD be reasonable. I hardly think they are considered a favorite....but if things bonuce their way they could stay in the race for a little while conceiveably. i don't really like them THAT much.

I agree with you though that CHI is likely to win more games than HOU or PIT. So...if I had to choose a side in this particular bet it would be on the side of the Cubbies.
