I too vote for traceone's Blue Big Chip cover. If chosen by 2+2, hopefully Mason will relent and include the full design, and not just the front cover, and put all the blurbs on the back.

You cannot design a book cover this way.

I think you really should a professional book designer and work with them to create the right cover.

The cover is going to have a huge impact on sales and needs to do more than look cool, it needs to communicate the key ideas that are going to convince a browser that this is the right book for their purpose.

For example, Traceone's covers are fantastic. By far the sharpest, most stylish and professional looking. But they don't look like comprehensive, in-depth guides for beginners, they look like novels. Because there are no bullet points they have great visual impact but fall short of communicating the book's actual content to the casual browser - and that's what's going to make the difference between someone buying the book or putting it back on the shelf.

If I were you I would hire Traceone, pay him 3 or 4 times the "prize" amount to develop a solid cover treatment with the same clean, modern, high-impact look as his cover number 1, but that does a better job communicating the book's content and purpose. Something between Trace's cover and Deaner03's.

Go through several revisions if you need to. When you have something that works, get some people who are just starting out in Hold'em and show them this cover next to the covers of some of the books you'll be competing with. Don't ask them "which cover looks best?" ask them "which book would you buy?"

I just feel very strongly that you need to approach the design of your book covers with the same discipline and professionalism as you approach the development of the Poker strategy that goes on the inside.

That's exactly why I really like traceone's but voted for illunious. That information needs to be on the cover.

Nice job traceone. I can't believe I missed this contest. I would've given you some good competition.

Nice source pics.

I still say Nolanfan's "updated" gun cover would be awesome.
