Re: Route 66
"See eMarkM's insightful posts. Doesn't hurt to fire a second bullet."
I agree, and if I'm EP and can bet first I do that a lot. Especially if I think I can steal. I'm not a big fan of calling another bullet, though, or betting into someone I think will call. These were bet into me and the cards on the board were fairly coordinated and in the reasonable range for the bettor to have a pair or better. The 1st one I wouldn't be closing the action and the 2nd one there was a bet and a call before it got to me. Both times I was out-chipped. Seemed reasonable enough to 'fold and wait for a better opportunity' as they say. Maybe this is a mistake, although something else just occurred to me, I was playing this game a LOT tighter than I usually play, this was my 3rd game of the night and the force was not with me. I let that color my thinking on this particular play. I use the stop 'n go here a lot of times. I've seen advice here to the tune of calling up to 10% of your stack, what percentage would you call with a PP, planning to push a non-scary board? Regards, Gar |

Re: Route 66
I generally follow that 10% rule with low PP as well. Especially early. As for pushing a non scary board, it generally depends on stack sizes of myself and my opponent. If he is getting odds to call I won't make this play. If he isn't, then it is a much safer play.

Re: Route 66
[ QUOTE ]
You have the CO 'outchipped by several hundred' and around 850-900 chips, meaning he has maybe 600 left. He raises to 150, a quarter of his stack. Now that everyone's actually read the whole post, which of his hands do you think he will fold to a reraise? [/ QUOTE ] my mistake... i missed that too. this should be a fold. |
