Re: 2 AKs hands
[ QUOTE ]
Easypete why do you want to raise the turn in hand 2? SB leading the turn after Hero capped the flop is pretty much a sure sign we are behind. [/ QUOTE ] Can't think of any hand that beats me here that makes sense, except maybe 88. Even so... you would think that 88 may c/r turn. I expect to see AQo or AJo here more often than something that beats me. |

Re: 2 AKs hands
[ QUOTE ]
How is calling a bet after hitting TPTK on a somewhat ragged board okay? Reraise that flop every time. Cap if he reraises, then call down if he shows aggression on the turn. KT is somewhat likely, but many people will bet like that in SB with any hand, just to stab at the pot [/ QUOTE ] Waiting until the turn to raise isn't all that bad, it can be +EV since if Hero raises the flop, it tends to shut out the action on the turn. With the ragged board, Hero's relative equity isn't going to change all that much on the turn. I still like 3-betting on the flop though just because without a read I don't know if the turn action will always look like the flop action. Plus I'd rather be 3-betted on the flop than the turn if SB has a monster. |

Re: 2 AKs hands
Hand 1 I don't mind waiting until the turn to raise though there are two players in there. I'd normally be raising the flop. However, why not raise the river?
Hand 2 you shut down after the flop. I think you have to raise the turn and then just call it down if you get reraised. UTG usually doesn't raise with 88, 44, A8, or A4. AA probably caps the flop. I agree that it's probably AQ, AJ, perhaps AK. These look like two hands you could have made a few more BBs on. |

Re: 2 AKs hands
Not that surprising. You have TPTK and I've seen people go crazy here with less than AQ. If he 3bets the turn then definitely call it down and hope for a board pair.
