Hit $100, moved up to $50NL. Lost a whole buy in almost immediately when my flopped set-turned full house lost to flopped second pair-turned trips-rivered quads.

So I figure I'll start.

It's midnight in the UK, I have a document to finish that I am working on and the TOC is on UK tv for the first time so I launch 1 table at UB....and here is my first hand,

Ultimate Bet No-Limit Hold'em, $.25 BB (8 handed) converter

Button ($6.55)
SB ($7.15)
Hero ($25)
UTG ($8.65)
UTG+1 ($8.05)
MP1 ($9.30)
MP2 ($8.05)
CO ($11.25)

Preflop: Hero is BB with K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].
UTG calls $0.25, UTG+1 calls $0.25, MP1 calls $0.25, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, CO calls $0.25, <font color="#666666">2 folds</font>, Hero checks.

Flop: ($1.35) 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(5 players)</font>
Hero checks, UTG checks, UTG+1 checks, MP1 checks, CO checks.

Turn: ($1.35) J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(5 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">Hero bets $0.5</font>, UTG calls $0.50, UTG+1 calls $0.50, MP1 folds, CO calls $0.50.

River: ($3.35) 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(4 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">Hero bets $2.75</font>, UTG calls $2.75, UTG+1 calls $2.75, CO calls $2.75.

Final Pot: $14.35

Results in white below: <font color="#FFFFFF">
Hero has Kh Qd (straight, king high).
UTG has Tc Qc (straight, queen high).
UTG+1 has 8d Ah (three of a kind, eights).
CO has Ad Qs (straight, queen high).
Outcome: Hero wins $14.35. </font>

[ QUOTE ]

Players will start with 2 buy-ins at the $25 level.
When players have 2 buy-ins for the next level up, they move up. For example, when you have $100 you will move up to $50 NL. If a player loses more than 2 buy-ins for the level they are at, they move down until they are at the appropriate level.

[/ QUOTE ]

You start with 50 (two buy-ins) for the low game. You get to $100 (2 buy-ins for next level). Now, you said you lose more than 2 buy-ins for the level you are currently on, you step back to a lower level.
Problem seems to be that if you lose more than 2 buy-ins you are pretty much broke since you are basically starting levels at just a little over 2 buy-ins.

nh ipp! and sorry to hear that mason55, rivered quads always blow unless they're yours.

Oh, and I've dug myself out of a -$13.75 hole finally. Playing sh-t no less. Now that I've gotten all this loose, stupid play out of my system I guess I can take this challenge serious!

Hand of the night for me:
PokerRoom No-Limit Hold'em, $0.50 BB (8 handed) converter

MP2 ($35.90)
CO ($3.75)
Button ($22)
SB ($36.05)
BB ($7.75)
UTG ($22.25)
UTG+1 ($4.45)
MP1 ($10.45)

Preflop: Hero is button with K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].
UTG calls $0.25, <font color="#666666">2 folds</font>, MP2 calls $0.25, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, Ruso329 calls $0.25, SB completes, BB checks.

Flop: ($1.50) 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(5 players)</font>
SB checks, BB checks, <font color="#CC3333">UTG bets $1</font>, MP2 calls $1, <font color="#CC3333">Ruso329 raises to $4</font>, SB folds, BB folds, UTG calls $3, MP2 calls $3.

Turn: ($13.50) 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(3 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">UTG bets $18 (All-In)</font>, MP2 folds, Ruso329 calls $17.75 (All-In).

River: ($49.25) 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players, 2 all-in)</font>

At this point I thought I was [censored].

Final Pot: $49.25

Results in white below: <font color="#FFFFFF">
UTG has Ah Ac (one pair, aces).
Hero has Ks 2s (two pair, kings and deuces).
Outcome: Hero wins $49.25.</font>

Hmm.. I see where you're coming from. Does anyone have any suggestions for this besides don't go broke?

EDIT: what if you wait until you have 3 buy-ins to move up and then move down if you lose a buy-in?

Details of my progress so far can be found at my NL OIC blog.

For those too lazy, here is the summary:
Day's results: +$10.75
OIC Bankroll: $60.75
Hands played: 79
Level: .10/.25 - $25

I've got to go see my g/f now for V-day, but will be back online later tonight to play some more hands.

Just saw this thread, I'll give it a whirl as soon as I get knocked out of the two tourneys I'm in. I usually play tourneys but this sounds fun. I was going to do the limit one and then I realized I'd rather watch paint dry than play limit HE

I think I'll do it at Pokerroom or Gaming Club. Plenty of maniacs at TGC but the software blows.

Oh! One thing. Multitabling is not prohibited, but it is not encouraged either. I think this is something that should be done single-tabling. As for me I'm down to $41.15. That's what I get for playing at 4 am.
