Re: Gotta be a better way to play this.
checking this flop 5 way is okay. But when no one bets the flop, I am going to bet the turn. You should get respect since you were the blind and could have been going for a check raise on the flop, or have hit an 8 on the turn.
Normally, you are not going to bet the hand again on the river unless a miracle 9 comes off. |

Re: Gotta be a better way to play this.
I agree, if it were checked around and a non over card or the 8 came on the turn, I would bet out. Probably close to a pot sized bet. But the flop was bet with several callers.

Re: Gotta be a better way to play this.
I fold pre-flop even though you could get in for half price. Folding also suggests to your opponents that you are tight and it may be easier for you to steal their blinds later as a result.

Re: Gotta be a better way to play this.
It's actually T5, or 1/3 to complete, and I do it every time if it's available. I just don't see how this could be too tight if you can play well postflop.

Re: Gotta be a better way to play this.
I fold preflop. 29o is just about worthless despite the super pot odds you are getting, but I suppose completing is fine.
I like your line here. The flop is perfect, so is the turn. The river is also fine. Value betting here is pretty shady. I would check call a suspicious bet. -Jason |

Re: Gotta be a better way to play this.
This is exactly the way I play it. If the BB bets t30 on the flop, I fold.
