Default Re: Push?

this was pretty much what I was thinking...i think you can push if you decide that Rock will probably fold most of his hands (everything excluding a set?)...does he normally bet out the pot in EP with a set in this situation?

one person suggested just calling but I think this is clearly a push/fold situation...if you had more money, maybe a call could be correct....any less money and it becomes an easier push.....

your read of the Rock is the most important piece of info

People seem to be very concerned about you being in the devastating situation of running up agaisnt a set or higher flush draw. if you had a flush draw with a staight draw (inside or outside straight), then running up agaisnt a higher flush is really a killer. But if you're up agaisnt a hiogher flush draw here, youre a favorite. YOU'VE GOT A PAIR ALREADY. The point is, if someone else hasa lfush draw, they dont have a pair (you have the T [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]). If you are agaisnt a set (or two pair) then youve got outs. I don't know how the math works out, but with 400 + 120 + 120 = 640 in the pot, you've gotta be close to getting odds to hit your flush (and not have them fill up) getting allin here. That said, I'm not sure a push is correct. It comes down to MP. I think theres a very good chance youll fold out SB, even if hes got two pair or maybe even bottom set (if hes that tight). If you think MP might fold, push.

well, i suppose even the tightest player wouldnt fold 77 here, but folding 2 pair is very possible.

So, since SB didnt pusht the flop and since MP had the Ah (meaning he hasd a best one pair on the flop), you probably should have pushed. oh well.

BTW, can some one do the math. Is hero a favorite agaisnt AKh? certainly its worht the push with all the money in the pot.

The devastating situation is running up against a set and a higher flush draw.

Don't fold if you're going to turn the nuts. Moron.

yeah the key is to wait till you see the turn before you make your flop decision.
usually if you ask nicely they let you do that.
but you have to make sure you use it wisely cuz they only let you do it a couple of times per session.

before you call, just ask the dealer, "may i please rabbit hunt real quick before i act?"
and if he says no just don't tip him for the rest of the night.
