if had pocket aces you could have scared him out with the flop check raise and a turn bet.

If villian has AA, he's seeing a showdown, no matter what the turn and river are.

And BTW, if I were in villian's shoes and got check-raised, then bet into on the turn, I would raise - not fold.

Because the most likely hand check-raising the flop and leading the turn is a Q. AA beats a Q on this board.

FWIW, I think you played this hand perfectly. You just ran into some bad luck. If you play this hand the exact same way 100 times over, you'll show a big profit.

With that flop, it's okay to slowplay and wait for the turn to check-raise with some big bets.

Again, good hand. Bad luck.

For instance, in the above hand:

Check-raising the flop, would have gained an extra Big Bet.

Check-raising the turn gains an extra TWO Big Bets.

You're completely ignoring 2 things:
1) There will be times when you get 3-bet on this flop, which makes you very happy. Check-calling leaves no opportunity for this.
2) A lot of players will see the turn card w/ pretty much any two, but fold there if they miss. If you wait for the turn to check-raise, you're likely going to be trapping fewer opponents.
