in a small way it's like drastically underbetting the pot. you have to avoid getting in deep trouble when they hit for that to be effective.

Ed knows Matt has been playing tight, Matt knows Ed knows this.

Matt knows Ed has been betting on solid goods and betting strong. Ed doesn't know this.

Advantage: Matt. He understands that Ed is on fire, but more so he able to pick up extremely reliable betting patterns.

Disadvantage: Ed, his betting pattern for the last hour is too consistent and a good player like Matt will pick on that very easily.

Need I say more?
