I'm glad I asked a friend to tape it. I liked Pulp Fiction.

Don't get your hopes up if you liked Pulp Fiction. I loved Pulp Fiction because it showed that gangsters have "real-life" conversations like talking about what they call a Big Mac in France. Tilt, however, is more along the lines of a bad movie where all the dialouge is cheesey phony sh*t that makes you want to puke.

Default Tarantino is rolling over in his grave

To compare this show to Tarantino's work is such the biggest slap in the face to him and his movies. Just sayin'.

On another note, boy I can't wait get my hands on the tv rip of this episode. Hilarious avatars are coming.

The writers reused one of Worm's lines (Miami repeats Worm's line to Mike after being pulled out of the Chesterfield game), which I thought was sloppy.

I took it as genius, not only as an homage to Rounders (the product that started all of the poker craze in the first place) but also as a way of saying, Look, everyone in card rooms quotes Rounders, so we're going to show that too.

Funny, I was thinking that the NFL overreacted somewhat with their objection to Playmakers, but now, after seeing Tilt, I can see why they'd be upset. Doubtless almost all of these shenanigans HAVE happened in a cardroom somewhere, but they make it seem like this is all poker is about. Total joke.

Don't get me wrong, I'll be watching again tho....

Exactly. Similar to having the guys in the movie "Boiler Room" watch and quote the movie "Wall Street"...

"Art" imitating "Art"...

I've come to the only conclusion possible. That ESPN is trying to destroy poker. I think they're jealous of the fact that their coverage of WSOP sucks and that even VVP puts their announcers to shame.

If Boiler Room were made today you'd know he'd be running a poker game in his basement vs. a blackjack game...

I supsect most halfway-intelligent people with an interest in poker will realize that Tilt is nothing more than a lame Tarrantino-ripoff with no soul or veracity and figure out that poker is readily played in a non-corrupt environment.

[/ QUOTE ]

I want non-intelligent people playing poker with me, not halfway-intelligent ones. If this show scares away the dumbasses, then that ruins it for all of us.
