Re: When it comes to senses of humor . . .
I would say the concentration at the table detracts from humor, but after seeing some threads here I have to say, a lot of poker players are just humorless.

Re: When it comes to senses of humor . . .
I think that a lot of people who have replied have just been at the wrong tables. I have been at many tables where there were burts of laughter from the whole table. I think that as long as you try to build a friendly attitude at the table you will see many others start to take teh same attitude and joke around.

The verdict is in.
I have scientifically proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that most poker players are humorless bastards. Except for the guys that put in a '6' or '7' -- you guys were hilarious .

Re: When it comes to senses of humor . . .
Let's not forget the tired old jokes heard at nearly every table.
"Suited Aces!" "I've got Three Pairs!" etc. etc....barf.... |

Re: Silly you. The average *non-poker-playing*-shmoe is a \'5\'.
ok ok
I still think it is a 5 though because I don't think poker players differ from anyone else. If they are up, then they are more likely to be happy and funny. If they are down, then they are whiny little babies. Next time you play, watch someone who is having a bad night. They'll always be frowning and grumpy. If you make a joke, they just stare at you. But if you make a joke when they finally do win a pot, you'll see that they perk up and are in a much better mood. |
