Re: About to start limit- 2/4 or 5/10 6 max!?!?!? experienced players
i didnt really think of it at the time, but i agree with bobby and lawrence entirely. i think you would be better off learning how to beat full tables at first, as it should be significantly easier to understand. plays are more black and white, cut and dry in full ring games and therefore you can learn the fundamentals to the game before going out into the shorthanded world where everything is a grey shadow.

Re: About to start limit- 2/4 or 5/10 6 max!?!?!? experienced players?
Curious, what helpful poker prowess can we assume Snowback (or any NL player/limit virgin) will be bringing to a limit game, and what will he be lacking?
Is the psychology/strategy of aggression so different in limit that a NL player needs to rethink their whole game? |

Re: About to start limit- 2/4 or 5/10 6 max!?!?!? experienced players
This might be an interesting suggestion IF Party had 3/6 6-max.
Since they don't, and I assume the OP is interested in playing on Party, then it is not very helpful. I recommend full-tables for now....and as you gain comfortability in that try to pick up 6-max. If you decide that you do want to go the 6-max route and DON'T want to try 5/10 on party then you might want to look into the 2/4 and 3/6 6-max games on Stars or UB. There's nothing wrong with trying the party 1/2 6-max games either...or even the full. However, I agree with others who say that a limit newbie starting out at 5/10 6-max has a good chance of getting creamed. The play there is REALLY awful sometimes...but if you're brand new to limit then it's possible you will only be marginally better. Limit is very different than NL. And 6-max is different enough from full-table to make it a tough transition for you I would suspect. But this is all speculative of course since I don't know you. Also agree that this would be better in the SS or even in the General forum. |

Care to share your story? How's heads up going by the way? |

Re: About to start limit- 2/4 or 5/10 6 max!?!?!? experienced players
why would party have a reason for anything they do?
they have no rhyme or reason to a lot of things. they might not even realize they have no 6-max at 2/4 or 3/6. |
