Also, I didn't notice this before, but wrong forum.

I'm in the Bahamas. It's a WPT event.

But maybe you're right, I dunno.

I just figure if you want strategy discussion, you should go to a strategy forum. To me, this is more of a celebrity discussion forum. If your opponent was famous, or on previous TV episodes, then it would make more sense to me.

Hope you fared well on the trip.

No way with 10k in the pot that you smooth call and try and check raise the turn. Certainly there is no way that you can get away from this hand and you would like to double through but when UTG bets 3k on the flop it's time to try and either take down this relativiley big pot or get the UTG to make a big mistake. By not reraising you effectively give UTG a free shot at 10k in the pot.

That said an alternative way to play is o play as you did. whether or not that translates into playing to win or not I'm not sure. I think trying to get UTG to make a big mistak is a better way to play to win. Not raising the flop gives UTG a chance to get away from a dominated hand if a scare card falls.

A throw in a weak lead and get someone to raise me. Something that screams overcards but will fold if raised. t2000 perhaps? If you're right about the button wanting to bet, then you can re-raise as approrpiate.

Betting big enough to shut everyone out seems like a waste of a set.
