I don't know - when he raises me on the flop, I think 1 of 2 things (again, unless I have a read that makes me think otherwise):

1) I'm behind.
2) He wants a free card.

Given the board on the flop, I don't know which case we fall into. When the third spade hits the turn, it doesn't really matter much anymore to me: in either case, I'm beaten and I don't have *any* redraw in this case. Faced with having to call 2 into a likely 13-14 bet pot, I don't see it. Oh, and SB is just hanging back there, too...a raise out of him cuts down my odds even more. Now, it's 3 into a 15-16 bet pot, just to show down my top pair.

When that turn card hits, what are you ahead of?? What do you have the potential to redraw to? Both answers are "not much."

Were you going to stop and go a non-scare turn, or were you just frightened to death by a raise on the flop?

Were you planning to bet if a spade doesn't hit on the turn, or did you automatically think you were behind on the flop?
