no, that was not weak play. I would probably call the river raise here too, but its VERY close.

Final Pot: 13 BB

On the end he took some time before raising. He might have been considering whether or not to raise. Or he might have been taking some time before raising, to make me believe he had something to think about.

You suck. It's not about money. It's about principles. Sure he might have the J [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], but imagine how you'll feel if he doesn't and you fail to 3 bet?

Principles.

the funny thing is if you changed the hand so that no straight flush was possible, but you had the K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], I doubt anyone would tell you to 3-bet. all you have is a one card 2nd nut flush draw.

I think a 3-bet would be correct in your scenario too, if the action was the same. The turn raise/call IMO means he doesn't have the nuts. Are you saying that you think a call is better than a 3-bet here?

Just as London lawyers (who, after all only make around $1,500/hour for talking) can find the most creative ways to use more words to say less, you, my friend, are supremely skilled at using less words to say more.

Interesting thread.

Looks to me like he didn't realise he had the nuts at the turn and had to work it out at the river. In which case I would agree with calling unless the guy is a known loosey goosey.
